Kraftblock is an engineering and manufacturing company that builds systems to decarbonize heat in industry, district heating and power generation. At the heart of its technology is a unique proprietary thermal energy storage system using a newly invented sustainable material that can withstand temperatures of 1,300°C. Using a resistive heater, electricity is converted to heat at high temperatures and stored in the special thermal storage material for hours and days. This way, the times of low-cost electricity can be used to support the rest of the day and bring down cost of electrification of process heat. Kraftblock can deliver steam, thermal oil, hot water or hot air between 50 °C an 1,000 °C.In the energy intensive industries, waste heat recovery is also an option.
